MP’s plea on Central varsity

VISAKHAPATNAM: Bhadrachalam MP Midiyam Babu Rao has appealed to the Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandareswari to cancel the proposal to transfer of the proposed Central University from Visakhapatnam to Kadapa.

In a letter to the Union Minister, he described the proposal as a ‘retrograde step’.

He expressed surprise that the State government was unable to find 700 acres of land in Visakhapatnam for the proposed university. He recalled that land was acquired in the recent past for establishment of about 16 SEZ s.
