Shed the obsession

We should not be obsessively framing new anti-terror laws while dealing with terrorism. We already have many (“Counter Terror with Justice”, May 27.). These laws have not worked effectively as they have been misused leading to violation of the fundamental rights of citizens.

Terror is an act of a few individuals who do not believe in any religion. Why ascribe it to a particular community? The stigma which has been attached to a specific community should be removed, so that no one feels he is discriminated against.

Kapil Kumar Singh,

New Delhi
