Navdeep in good form

NEW DELHI: Navdeep Singh defeated wildcard A. Muhammad of Kuwait 6-3, 6-4 to move into the quarterfinals of the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament in Kuwait on Wednesday.

Navdeep will meet the fifth-seeded compatriot Karan Rastogi, who got a walkover from David Klier of Germany in the second round.

Navdeep continued with his good work in the doubles as well to make the semifinals in partnership with Leon Frost of Australia. The duo beat Jacob Avellan and Markus Eriksson of Sweden 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, the Indo-Australian pair will challenge the Indian top seeds Rohan Gajjar and Purav Raja who breezed past Mohammad Al Shatti and Ziad Sultan of Kuwait 6-1, 6-0.
