Maoists claim to have killed BJD leader

BERHAMPUR: Maoists claimed that they had killed the BJD leader and cricket player, Rajendra Sahu at Gothalpadar village in Rayagada district. Through letters written in Telugu sent to media personnel, the secretary of the Srikakulam divisional committee, CPI (Maoist) claimed that Sahu was shot dead last week because he was a police informer and exploiter of local tribals. The Maoists also added that they had also killed the sarpanch of Rekhapadar panchayat in Rayagada district last month due similar reasons.
