Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Wednesday night ordered booking of a case against Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy under Section 126 of the Representation of People Act for addressing a press meet earlier in the day, recalling development achieved by his government in the State, thereby trying to influence voters in favour of the Congress.
It also ordered cases to be booked against television channels for the telecast of a press meet live.
Chief Electoral Officer I.V Subba Rao has been asked to initiate the necessary formalities for booking the cases.
The EC also ordered a case to be booked against M. Mukesh Goud who allegedly manhandled CPI(M) MP Madhu on Wednesday.
