Man arrested for threatening Rajasthan Chief Minister

CHENNAI: A 28-year-old man belonging to the Gujjar community was detained in Tiruvallur by a police team from Chennai on Tuesday for allegedly sending a “threatening message” to a Minister in Rajasthan, in the backdrop of a heated agitation led by the members of the community in that State.
The police said the detained person, B. Behra Ram of Bali district in Rajasthan, was working in a pawn broker’s shop in Kakkalur in Tiruvallur district.
A couple of days ago he had sent a text message to Kalulal Gujjar, the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Minister, stating that the Rajasthan Chief Minister would be murdered for the firing incident in that State on Tuesday.
Following this, the Rajasthan police sought the help of the Chennai police to nab the sender.
The Chennai police found out that the message was sent from a mobile phone belonging to a person listed as residing on M.C. Road, Royapuram. The city police found it to be a fake address. The cell phone was traced to Tiruvallur.
