A tie-up to provide better facilities for customers

CHENNAI: Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has tied up with Alankit Assignments Ltd. for providing single window services pertaining to Permanent Account Number (PAN) card and Tax Information Network (TIN) services to its customers.

The services would be available at five branches of the bank in the city – Gemini Circle, Anna Nagar, Sowcarpet, T. Nagar and Adyar. For now, 20 IOB branches across the country would offer these services.

Inaugurating the facility at the Gemini Circle branch on Wednesday, bank’s Executive Director Y.L. Madan said Alankit Assignments Ltd would also help the IOB use information technology to enhance banking operations. The tie-up could further expand to other services such as opening of Demat accounts. The current facility would help improve the tax collection machinery of the government, he said.

Alankit Assignments is an equity broking agency and a banking service provider identified by the National Securities Depository Ltd. Chairman and managing director of the company Alok Kumar Agarwal said it intended to provide hassle-free services at government prescribed fees. Commissioner of Income Tax Sudhir Chandra participated in the launch function.
