Land meant for layout recovered

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority on Wednesday demolished 18 sheds put up on five acres of land in Kothnur village, Uttarahalli Hobli, Bangalore South Taluk. This land had been notified for acquisition and sites were to be formed as part of the J.P. Nagar 8th Phase Layout to be formed by the BDA.

Revenue site holders had allegedly put up sheds on the property worth Rs. 20 crore and had also filed cases in court to stop the BDA from evicting them, a release said. “About 45 sites will be formed from the recovered land, which has been in litigation for the last four or five years. But we have not decided on whom to allot the sites to,” said BDA Engineer-in-Chief P.N. Nayak.
