Olympic champion Hamm has surgery

COLUMBUS: The 2004 Olympic gymnastics gold medallist Paul Hamm had surgery to repair the broken bone in his right hand on Tuesday. The American Hamm said he hopes to be back on the equipment in five weeks, giving him plenty of time to get ready for the Beijing Olympics. — AP
