Fleming to fly home

Mumbai: Stephen Fleming’s appearance for Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural DLF-IPL has come to an end.

The former New Zealand captain, who was benched in the first four matches because of the presence of Australians Mathew Hayden and Micheal Hussey, but thereafter played 10 matches and scored 196 runs, is returning home on Thursday to be with his wife for the birth of his child.

“There’s too little time to get a replacement,” V.B. Chandrasekhar, Director, Cricket Operations, Chennai Super Kings, said. Chennai Super King plays Kings XI Punjab in the semifinals on Saturday.
