Bangalore: Rahul Dravid reiterated his belief in the “sanctity of Test cricket” and added that there should be no “tampering with the value” of the game’s longer version. “I, personally, would hate any dilution of Test cricket to fit in another season of Twenty20. Test cricket has history and has a lot of value and I hope it is never tampered with,” said Dravid here on Wednesday night. The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper said that it would be difficult to have IPL twice a year. “It would be difficult considering the way the future tours are structured and the way matches are scheduled,” Dravid said, besides expressing his disappointment with his team’s jinxed campaign in the IPL. “We have learnt quite a bit and next year not only us but other teams and franchises would be better prepared. This year everything fell in place in a few months and there was a bit of a rush. But next year there will be time to prepare in terms of infrastructure as well as the game. Personally, I started off a bit slow before picking up but it is the team’s success that matters and it was unfortunate that we couldn’t get going,” Dravid said. Mumbai Indians’ Dilharo Fernando said that his disastrous final over against Rajasthan Royals on Monday was over and done with. “Its over, it’s the past. I am a better bowler than I was in the last match and I am happy with the way I bowled here today. Last match, yes, there was pressure and I didn’t get the yorkers and slower balls going. It was great sharing the dressing room with Tendulkar and Pollock and Jayasuriya, I learnt a lot,” Fernando said. — Principal Correspondent
