‘Ceasefire monitoring in Nagaland weak’

Shillong: Amid fresh clashes between the two rival Naga groups, the Assam Rifles said on Thursday the ceasefire monitoring in Nagaland was poor and it needed to be strengthened.

“Though there is visibly peace in Nagaland, there is an uneasy calm in the State. The situation needs to be watched,” Assam Rifles Director-General Lt. Gen. Paramjit Singh said. The weak ceasefire monitoring had fomented clashes between the rival groups — NSCN (I-M) and NSCN(K). — PTI
