Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Thursday suspended a tehsildar and a patwari for their alleged involvement in irregularities and not providing copy of land records to the villagers. He announced the decision during a surprise visit of Isakhedi village under Kurwai tehsil of his home district Vidisha, official sources said here. After landing in the district, the Chief Minister went to Isakhedi unannounced and started interacting with the villagers enquiring whether they get benefit of government schemes. The villagers informed that they are getting kerosene, foodgrains and other essential items regularly from the PDS shops. Also, their children were getting school books and girls bicycles under the government schemes. Villagers’ complaintHowever, when they complained to him that the local patwari was not providing them copy of land records and indulging in irregularities, Mr. Chauhan issued orders suspending the patwari and tehsildar for dereliction of duty, they said. But Mr. Chauhan praised those officials on the occasion whose departments have given satisfactory results. Officials of school education, women and child development and health departments came in for praise from the Chief Minister, the sources added. -- PTI
