BERHAMPUR: Thirteen persons were killed in separate accidents in Orissa during past 24 hours. Around 33 persons were injured in these accidents. Four persons including a woman died and 31 others were injured when an overcrowded mini bus lost control and fell into a ditch from the ghat road near Barapulia village in Kandhamal district on Thursday morning. This ill-fated vehicle was travelling from Khajuripda to Phulbani. Three persons died on the spot. The injured were shifted to the Phulbani district hospital. One of the injured died in Phulbani hospital. Ten seriously injured victims had to be shifted to the MKCG medical college hospital in the city. Three of the deceased were identified as Malati Kanhar, Sukanta Kanhar and Dinabandhu Jani. Three labourers were killed and two others were seriously injured when a tractor carrying bricks overturned near Muniguda in Rayagada district on Wednesday night. These labourers were sitting on the brick-laden tractor trolley when the vehicle lost control and overturned. The development officer of Udit Nagar branch of the LIC, Rakesh Kumar Sinha died and the manager branch Pradip Chandra Das was injured when their two-wheeler had a collision with a bus near Rampal on the outskirts of Rourkela on Wednesday . Das succumbed to the injuries. The other accidents occurred in Sundergarh district. A man was run over by a dumper near Rourkela. Two persons were killed when a tractor overturned at Sahajbahel village. A six-year-old child became victim of an unidentified vehicle on Wednesday.
