SI, cops suspended for custodial death

Bulandshahr: A Sub-Inspector and two constables were suspended for a custodial death at Debai police station and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident, police said on Thursday.

Naubat Singh (70) of village Talwar was picked up by the police on Wednesday for allegedly running gambling racket from his house, they said. Singh’s condition started deteriorating in the lock-up from where he was rushed to the Aligah medical college, where he was declared dead, they said.
