CHANDIGARH: The Indian National Lok Dal has extended its support to the ongoing Gujjar reservation agitation. In a resolution passed at its executive meeting here on Thursday under the chairmanship of party president Om Parkash Chautala, the INLD asked for immediate acceptance of Gujjars’ demand for ST status. INLD secretary-general Ajay Singh Chautala told media persons that the party has demanded Rs.10 lakh as financial assistance and government jobs for the families of innocent agitators killed during the agitation. He also condemned the killing of innocent people at Samalkha in Haryana Police firing and demanded resignations of all the Gujjar MLAs.
