Plot against BJYM leader alleged

Staff Reporter

KASARAGOD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas has accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of trying to foist false police cases against Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State president K. Surendran.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Krishnadas said he had information that a special team of the State police had been directed to follow Mr. Surendran and trap him in a case. He said the CPI(M) had targeted Mr. Surendran as he had exposed the doings of certain senior CPI(M) leaders.

Mr. Krishnadas demanded that the State government conduct an inquiry into the assets of CPI(M) and its leaders, including Ministers in the Cabinet. He said the real aim of the CPI (M) was to take over ashrams such as the Amritanandamayi Math, Sri Ramakrishna Mission and Chinmaya Ashrams. The BJP would oppose such moves, he said.
