This Day That Age
The highest scholastic honour in the United States, membership of Phi Beta Kappa, was conferred on an Indian student by Botson University. Mr. Ashok Saran, formerly of Madras, now of New Delhi, was initiated into the Phi Beta Kappa organisation at a special ceremony in Marsh memorial Chapel. He was one of 18 senior students out of more than 300 to be selected for this honour. Dr. Paul F. Russel, a distinguished American and a 1916 graduate of Boston University, well known in India for his work in the field of malaria under the Rockefeller Foundation, was also honoured along with Mr. Saran.
