Corrections and clarifications

In “Cartoonscape” (Editorial page, May 29, 2008) — that depicted the Gujjar agitation — the “dangling carrot” should have been described as “ST status”, and not “SC status”, as was published.

The strapline of a report “Katara murder case: Vikas Yadav, cousin found guilty” (May 29, 2008) was “Sentence today in the high-profile, six-year-old case”. It should have been “Sentence tomorrow [Friday] …”, as mentioned in the second paragraph — “Following the verdict, Vishal, who was out on bail, was taken into custody and the two accused were whisked out of the packed Patiala House courtroom by the police. The sentences will be pronounced on Friday.”

The heading of a report “Tata Motors profit up at Rs. 1,913 crore” (“Business” page, May 29, 2008) was an error. It should have been Rs. 2,028.90 crore, as said in the first paragraph — “Tata Motors has announced a net profit of Rs. 2,028.90 crore for 2007-08, an increase of 6 per cent over the previous year’s Rs. 1,913.46 crore.”
