Sumit shines

NEW DELHI: Unbeaten knocks by Sumit Dhiman and Simran Bawa powered Moodi International (Panchkula) to a 10-wicket victory over Kanwal Sports Club (Jammu) in the first round of the 35th all-India Goswami Ganesh Dutt cricket tournament at the St. Stephen’s College ground here on Thursday.

Earlier, Naresh captured four wickets to restrict the Jammu team to 156. He had good support from Harikrishan and Amrinder Singh, who bagged two wickets apiece.

The scores: Kanwal SC (Jammu) 156 in 38.5 overs (Naresh four for 29) lost to Moodi International (Panchkula) 157 for no loss in 34.2 overs (Sumit Dhiman 82 n.o., Simran Bawa 64 n.o.)
