‘State will approach Supreme Court’
Staff Correspondent
TUMKUR: Chief Minister-designate B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that the Government will take the Hogenakkal issue to the Supreme Court.
He told presspersons here on Tuesday that Tamil Nadu had reiterated its decision to go ahead with the controversial project.
‘Will try talks’
Asked if he was not in favour of holding talks with the Tamil Nadu Government for an amicable solution, he said, “I am willing to settle the issue by talks. However, I do not have much hope.” He would sincerely try to find an amicable solution by holding talks with Mr. Karunanidhi, he said. “I will also lead an all-party delegation from the State to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and put pressure on him to mediate between the two States.”
