CPI flays murder of party activist
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India has condemned the murder of party activist K.K. Sivakumar by bootleggers in Salem on Wednesday night.
In a statement, State party secretary D. Pandian said Sivakumar used to give information to the police on the sale of illicit arrack, besides distributing pamphlets and organising public meeting against it.
Mr. Pandian alleged that the police, to protect the alleged killers, were trying to attribute a different motive for the murder.
He appealed to party units to organise protest meetings throughout the State on Friday to condemn the murder. The party flag would fly in half mast on Thursday and Friday.
