Bainsla ready for fresh talks

Sunny Sebastian

JAIPUR: Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla on Thursday said he would consider a fresh dialogue with the Rajasthan government if the authorities send a “proper invitation.”

Mr. Bainsla, camping in Pilupura in Bayana tehsil of Bharatpur district, however, added: “We will settle only for the Scheduled Tribe status. The best homage for the martyrs of the police firing will be the ST status.”

He was speaking at a meeting held at Pilupura to commemorate the victims during last year’s stir. “The time has come for a fresh look at the ST list. There is need to delete some of the groups and include new ones,” he said.
