MUMBAI: Shaun Marsh of Kings XI Punjab, who hit a superb century against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, gained the lead in the Orange Cap standings with a total score of 593 runs from 10 matches in the ongoing DLF-IPL. Delhi Daredevils’ Gautam Gambhir, who was in the lead earlier, has been pushed back to the second spot with 523 runs to his credit. Mumbai Indians’ Sanath Jayasuriya continues to occupy the third spot with a total of 514 runs, while Deccan Chargers’ skipper Adam Gilchrist is in the fourth spot with 436 runs. Rajasthan Royals’ opener Graeme Smith has a total of 416 runs and occupies the fifth place. Rohit Sharma of Deccan Chargers is sixth with 404 runs, one more than the seventh-placed Virender Sehwag, the Delhi Daredevils captain. Purple CapSohail Tanvir of Rajasthan Royals continues to lead the standings for the Purple Cap (most wickets) with 21 from nine matches. S. Sreesanth of Kings XI Punjab is in the second spot with 19 wickets from 14 games, while Rajasthan Royals’ captain Shane Warne, who did not play against Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday, is in the third place with 17 wickets from 13 matches, the same as fourth-placed Piyush Chawla of the Kings XI Punjab. However, Warne’s economy of 7.93 is better than that of Chawla (8.31) who has played 14 matches. Deccan Chargers’ R.P.
