Five injured in lightning

KASARAGOD: Five persons were injured and three houses damaged in lightning and heavy rains in the district on Thursday night. Hamsa, a resident of Eniyadi, Bandhadka and his wife Sainabi were injured when lightning struck their home. Both have been admitted to a private hospital nearby.

The goats and hens kept on the premises of the home were killed in the lightning.

In another incident three persons of a family were injured when lightning struck their home at Banthiyode, Uppala in the district. The injured are Sarada (37), daughter Aswini (12) and son Aswith (4).

Another house in the area was also damaged in the lightning and heavy rain.
