NAMAKKAL: Students in Namakkal district have put up an impressive performance once again in the SSLC and matriculation examinations, for which results were published on Friday. Two students V. Abhirami and D. R. Karamathullah secured State ranks in the matriculation examinations. Four students shared the first rank in the district level, 10 students the second rank and nine students the third rank. The overall performance of the district in the SSLC examinations had gone up by 3.17 per cent to touch 85.68 per cent. The pass percentage of the district in the matriculation examinations was 97.68. The performance of the government schools had gone up by 6.88 per cent to touch 82.89 per cent. As anticipated, girls outperformed boys this year too. The pass percentage of the girls in the SSLC examinations was 88.24, while that of boys 83.39. In matriculation examinations, 98.90 per cent of girls and 96.90 per cent of boys emerged successful. Four students shared the district level first rank in SSLC examinations by scoring 492 marks each. They are: P. Saravana Selvi and R. Pavithra of Bharathi HSS, P. Rupesh and C. Mohanraju from Mahabharathi HSS. The second rank went to 10 students who scored 491 marks: S. Divya, S. Kavya and K. Menga, all from Bharathi HSS, S. Soundaraya of Mahabharathi HSS, P. Sasikala of SRV Girls HSS, C. Prabavathi and P. Giri Prasath of Vetri Vikas HSS, C. Pradeepa Roshini from RR HSS, C. Balaji from Komarapalayam Government HSS, and P. Sathya Prakash from SKV school. Nine students who scored 490 marks shared the third rank: M. Pragadeeshwaran and J. Priya from Bharathi HSS, M. Renugadevi from Sivanandasalai GHSS, S.R. Vadivel and S. Vasanth Roshan from SRV boys HSS, K. Priyadarshini from Vetri Vikas HSS, T. Mohanavel from Jedarpalayam GHSS, S. Kiruthika from Mallasamudram Government Girls HSS and R. Sathya from Kurinji HSS. In the matriculation examinations, V. Abhirami of SSM Lakshmi Ammal HSS, Komarapalayam, who emerged the State topper, came first in the district with 489 marks. D. R. Karamathullah of Kurinji MHSS, who is also the Second rank holder in the State, bagged the district second with 488 marks. The third rank went to N. Nandini of the same school, who scored 486 marks. A total of 22 State board schools and 53 matriculation schools achieved 100 per cent results.
