NAMAKKAL: The police arrested a woman and her mother-in-law for allegedly killing a newborn girl

baby here on Thursday. The police said that Shanthi (28) of Velagoundmpatti and her mother-in-law Arukkani reportedly poisoned her newborn baby five months ago and buried it. Following a complaint, the body of the baby was exhumed and sent for post-mortem examination recently. Based on the report, the police arrested the women. Further investigation was going on, police said.
