Change of role sets him thinking
Special Correspondent
As an MLA, he used to ride to the Vidhana Soudha on his scooter

BANGALORE: For S. Suresh Kumar, Rajajinagar MLA, the change of role from Opposition party member to the ruling party, has made him do some introspection.
Fully conscious of his new role and the expectations from him, he said: “For the past 27 years, I have been highlighting and fighting against the lapses, failures and misdeeds of various governments and civic bodies. Now, as a Minister if I commit a small mistake, the people might view it seriously.”
A few hours before taking oath as a Minister on Friday, Mr. Suresh Kumar told The Hindu that this sudden change of role had caused him anxiety.
The change of role, according to Mr. Suresh Kumar, may impact even his personal life. “My family was only me and my mother until my marriage. Now, we are four — my mother, wife and daughter and me. We live in a modest house. I cannot even imagine how life would be after moving into a vast ministerial bungalow having lived in a small house all these years,” he said even as his eyes welled up.
Mr. Suresh Kumar, a lawyer, used to commute to the Vidhana Soudha on his scooter even during his second term as an MLA.
