The selection of India’s best Twenty20 team by The Hindu’s sports team (May 30) was full of pleasant surprises and agonising omissions. While the selection of young players such as Abhishek Nayar, Amit Mishra and Manpreet Gony deserves praise, the omission of Yuvraj Singh from the team is unbelievable, especially after his brilliant knock against the Rajasthan Royals in the last league match. V. Krishnan, Hyderabad Suresh Manoharan, Hyderabad The dream team is fairly well balanced. The only surprise omission is Yuvraj Singh who has proved himself time and again in the T20 format of the game. As the IPL juggernaut comes to a close, it is hoped the team owners would have realised that players such as Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar are not suited to the swashbuckling format of cricket.
