THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IBS Group, Technopark-based leading IT solution provider, has entered into a deal with Tokyo international Air Cargo Terminal (TIACT) for the implementation of Cargo Terminal Operations module of iCargo, IBS’ new-generation Cargo Management System. Growing acceptanceAnnouncing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, chairman and chief executive officer , IBS Group, V.K. Mathews said the new cargo terminal of Tokyo international (Haneda airport) will be the first airport in the world to have the iCargo’s CTO module. Mr. Mathews said IBS’ CTO system will efficiently manage the ground handling and warehousing of all cargo processed through the airport, and provides the tools to significantly improve service levels and productivity. iCargo is managing the cargo business of Nippon Cargo Airlines and All Nippon Airways, Japan’s leading carriers. “This deal with TIACT highlights the growing acceptance of IBS’ new-generation cargo solutions in Japan, one of the principal markets for the global air cargo business,” he added. Replying to queries, the Chairman and CEO said the IBS Group had been enlisted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as the IT solution provider for the 30-odd airports being modernised in the country. “We are holding talks with Civil Aviation authorities and the Airports Authority of India for managing cargo business,” he added. President and CEO, TIACT, Terutake Kato, who was also present at the press conference, said IBS was selected due to their extensive experience and know-how in the airline cargo industry. The new cargo terminal is designed to maximise the usage of the site area, which is 170,000 sq. m, he added.
