Shamita stunned top seed Sherina in semifinals Harsath took the boys’ title Coimbatore: S. Shamita Devi of Virudhunagar got past Ramya of Cuddalore 21-18, 21-10 to win the under-10 girls’ singles title in the Aircel-Tamil Nadu State-ranking junior badminton tournament at the DéjÀ vu Club courts here on Friday. In the semifinals, Shamita pulled off a surprising 21-9, 21-13 win over top seed Adlin Sherina. Easy pathRamya, on the other hand, had an easy path to the final as Nila Valluvan of Kanyakumari conceded quite early in the first set. P.T.
