PUDUKOTTAI: Students hailing from rural areas emerged toppers in the SSLC and Matriculation public examinations held in March this year.
The district-level topper in the SSLC examination, M. Dineshkumar, from S.K.T. Gandhi High School in Rayavaram village near Aranthangi, wants to become a computer engineer. He secured 490 marks out of total 500 in the public examination held in March this year.
He told the media here on Friday that his family’s economic backwardness did not deter him in working hard to gain the distinction. He would work harder for a similar achievement in the higher secondary educational career too. He also attributed his success to the sustained encouragement by the teachers and Headmistress, Kalaiselvi.
In the Matriculation examination, G. Rex Meril from Mary Immaculate Matriculation School in K. Rasiamangalam near Aranthangi, who secured 476 marks, emerged first in the district. The Principal of the school, Sr. Angelin Marina appreciated his hard work right from the beginning of the academic year.
