In Virudhunagar district, a boy secures top place

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The district registered 96.95 per cent success in matriculation examination.

A total of 670 boys (701 appeared) and 351 girls (356 appeared) passed out.

YRTV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi bagged the two district ranks. P. Binu and D. Arpita Metha shared the first rank with 480 each.

S. Nishanath, KCAD Chidambaram Matriculation School, Sattur, stood second with 479. T. Raghuram, SHNV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi and D. Rajesh Kannan, Sivanantha Matriculation School, Aruppukottai, with 477 marks, got the third rank.

State Board

Though more number of boys appeared for the examination, the girls outnumbered them in succeeding the test.

However, the top rank of the district went to a boy, S. Karthikeyan of Saliar Higher Secondary School in Aruppukottai (492 marks).

With a centum in Science, he has shared State third rank in the subject.

The district second and third ranks have been shared by two candidates each.

U. Arunpandiyan of PACM Higher Secondary School, Rajapalayam and Pa. Yogapraba of SBK Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Aruppukottai jointly stood second with 491 marks each.

K. Ranjani of Kammamagajanam Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Sattur and R. Sooriya Jothi, of KVS Higher Secondary School here shared the third place with 490 marks each.
