Workshop on dengue

NEW DELHI: A workshop on prevention and control of dengue and chikungunya was organised by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi at Town Hall on Friday. The workshop was aimed at sensitising municipal councillors about the need to create public awareness about the diseases in their respective wards.

Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra said the civic body had taken steps to prevent and control dengue by curbing the breeding of aedes egypti.

“The efforts of our health department were fruitful last year as a result of which incidents of dengue were kept under control. This year, before fining people for allowing breeding of mosquitoes, three prior notices should be served on him as a warning,” she said.
