CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cabinet has given its nod for institution and operation of “Samvad” as a society to coordinate the publicity and advertising activities of the State Government and cater to the corporate communication needs of its various organisations. The society has been formed and registered with the Registrar of Firms and Societies under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It will function under the supervision and guidance of its Board of Patrons. The Chief Minister will be the President-cum-Chief Patron while the Finance Minister, Health Minister, Education Minister and Minister of State, Chief Parliamentary Secretary or Parliamentary Secretary in charge of Information and Public Relations Department would be its Patrons. The Cabinet has also decided to calculate family pension at a uniform rate of 30 per cent of basic pay plus dearness pay in all cases subject to a minimum of Rs.1,913 per month and maximum of 30 per cent of the highest pay plus dearness pay. While approving the amendment in Family Pension Scheme, 1964, it also decided that in case of government employees who die in harness, family pension would be admissible from the date following the date of completion of period of financial assistance as per Haryana Compassionate Assistance to the Dependents of the Deceased Government Employees Rules, 2006. The family pension would be payable at the enhanced rate of 50 per cent of pay for seven years subject to fulfilment of condition of minimum seven years, service at the time of death. Thereafter, the family would be entitled to family pension at the rate of 30 per cent of pay. Cabinet also approved draft of Indian Stamp Ordinance, 2008, to reduce stamp duty on conveyance deeds/sale deeds from six per cent to five per cent.
