‘I was offered Speaker’s post’

BANGALORE: The non-inclusion of the top leader of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jagadish Shettar, in the Cabinet has had its echo with his supporters taking to the streets in Hubli and Bangalore. Mr. Shettar told The Hindu that he had taken the developments in his stride.

“I was offered the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly which I rejected outright. I am not aware of any law and order problem either in Bangalore or Hubli,”
