JD (U) seeks Rs. 5 lakh compensation

NEW DELHI: The Janata Dal (United) has demanded that the next of kin of each of those killed in police firing during the eight-day-old agitation by Gujjars be given Rs. 5 lakh as compensation.

At an office-bearers’ meeting here on Friday, the party paid homage to the victims by observing a two-minute silence.
