DRDO for tie-ups with universities

CHENNAI: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is keen on partnerships in high-end research with Sri Ramachandra University and Anna University, W. Selvamurthy, Chief Controller, DRDO, said on Friday.

During discussions with representatives of the universities, Dr. Selvamurthy said the DRDO was primarily looking at futuristic technology projects relevant to the country’s security and other needs.

The two-day meeting aims at finalising research projects from a list of 37 proposals that can be taken up by the universities with funding by DRDO. An R&D centre in medical technology is also under consideration.
