Swamy backs Jayalalithaa’s statement

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday joined AIADMK general secretary in condemning Finance Minister P.Chidambaram for not taking steps to prevent the entry of the Participatory Note (P-Note) into the stock market.

In a statement here Dr Swamy said Ms. Jayalalithaa had hit the bull’s eye in identifying the current economic malaise and inflation in the country.

Recalling Ms. Jayalalithaa’s observation that P-notes did not require to abide by the SEBI rules of disclosure or declare ownership, he alleged that the notes were used for money laundering.
