Bangladesh nationals being interrogated
Special Correspondent
KOLKATA: The police are interrogating 19 persons, including some women, stated to be Bangladesh nationals. They were arrested in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on Wednesday.
They were charged with non-possession of valid documents, District Superintendent of Police Basab Dasgupta told The Hindu on Friday. The police are verifying whether they came from Jaipur, where a series of blasts on May 13 claimed over 60 lives.
The Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami is one of the militant outfits suspected to be involved in the blasts. The arrested persons told the police that they were engaged in stone-crushing work in Jaipur.
