Extra provisioning for off-book exposures


MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday proposed extra provisioning for bank exposures such as currency derivatives and interest rate related contracts that are not shown on balance sheets. If the proposals come into force, banks will have to keep more money aside for their off-balance sheet exposures.
