Srinivas in semifinals

HYDERABAD: Unseeded Srinivas of Hyderabad had a dream run in the 37th junior National carrom championship. He first defeated the top-seeded Stalin of Tamil Nadu 25-12, 25-4 in the third round, then in the pre-quarterfinals beat Danish of Delhi 16-4, 25-11 before finally putting it across another experienced player Senthil Kumar (TN) 25-13, 25-14 to enter the singles semifinals in Varanasi, according to information received here.

In the semifinals, Srinivas will take on Md Adil of Uttar Pradesh while Silambrasan of Tamil Nadu meets Md. Gufran (UP).

Latest results: Junior boys: Quarterfinals: Srinivas bt Senthil Kumar 25-13, 25-14; Md. Adil bt. Omar Tanwir 0-25, 25-9, 25-17; Silambrasan bt K. Chandrakumar 25-3, 25-5; Md. Gufran bt Herojit Singh 25-22, 25-0.

Junior girls: Quarterfinals: Khushboo Kumari bt Jamama Iqbal 25-15, 25-10; Kaajal Kumari bt M. Atulya 25-8, 25-10.
