Three of a family murdered

Dumka: Three members of a family, including an 8-year-old boy, were hacked to death by unidentified persons at Dangalpara in Jharkhand’s Dumka district, police said on Saturday.

The police said a contractor, Rajesh Kumar Singh alias Bablu, his wife Noori and their son, Raj, were hacked by sharp weapons on Friday night.

A five-month-old baby was spared, police said.

Superintendent of Police, Sido Hembram said, “The murder of the couple and their minor son was known on Saturday morning.”

The bodies of the mother and son were recovered from under the cot and Singh’s body was found lying on the verandah, Hembram said.

The incident came to light this morning when nobody responded to the maid’s calls.
