BANGALORE: The allocation list of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which assigns colleges to those who have secured top ranks, was published on its website here on Saturday. While the results and rank list had been made public earlier this month, there was confusion among students about their college allocation. The college allocation list assigns colleges to all students who have secured higher ranks according to their preference mentioned in the application form. Many students have chosen the National Law School of India University, Bangalore as their first preference, as is evident from the allocation list. “Almost all the top rankers chose Bangalore, and though we have not made any detailed study there are a significant number of girls,” said A. Jayagovind, Vice-Chancellor of NLSIU and CLAT convener. As many as 11,500 students took the examination which will decide admissions to the seven prestigious National Law Schools in Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Raipur and Gandhinagar and the recently added law colleges in Lucknow, Patiala and Patna. The candidate lists for the law colleges in Lucknow, Patiala and Patna will be announced in a few days. Almost double the number of students took the examination in 20 test centres across the country.
