MALAPPURAM: Two youngsters were killed and another seriously injured when a lorry ran into a crowd at Veliyamkode near Ponnani on Friday night. The youths were reportedly discussing cricket after the Indian Premier League match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils when the accident occurred. Noufal, 21, son of Nadakkattil Kunhimon from Veliyamkode, and Shihab, 25, son of Ittekkat Mohammed, were run over by a Kozhikode-bound lorry. They died on the spot. Hashim, 18, son of Nambraveettil Hassan, was admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur with serious injuries. The police said the lorry driver lost control after falling asleep. — Staff Reporter
