Big jump in Class X pass percentage

NEW DELHI: The Delhi region has registered an impressive increase of 5.69 pass percentage points in Class X examinations this year, the results of which were declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education this past week.

Several schools in the National Capital Region have come up with a good performance. Nikita Khattar of Amity International School, Noida, has scored an excellent 98.4 per cent in the Class X exam. Out of the 300 students from that school who appeared at the exam this year, 231 have got distinctions in different subjects and a good 55 students have scored above 90 per cent.

150 in 90% bracket

At Amity International School, Saket, as many as 65 out of 150 candidates ended up in the 90 per cent and above bracket. Yajur Narang topped the school with a brilliant 97.2 per cent. Sixteen of the school’s students have got a perfect 100 in Mathematics.

The highest scorer at Amity International School, Gurgaon, was Aakaksha Chhokra, whose overall percentage stands tall at 97.6 per cent. She was closely followed by Shagun Gupta who has secured 97.2 per cent.

The Apeejay institutions have also achieved good results. Rahul Malhotra of Apeejay School, Pitampura, has scored 97.2 per cent, while Ayush Jindal was not very far behind with 97 per cent. At Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, Arpit Gupta has been declared the topper with 94.8 per cent.

Chaitnya Kansal and Mridul Sharma have been ranked the highest scorers at Apeejay School, Noida, having secured 95.6 per cent, with Samyak Dutta following close behind with 95.4 per cent.

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya has achieved “one of the best results” compared to other prestigious schools of the Capital. Around 40 per cent students here have secured more than 90 per cent aggregate marks. The credit for the highest percentage goes to G. Rajshri Iyer with 96.2 per cent. The average result of the school was 85.80 per cent.

Ghaziabad topper

Ruchika Airy has been the topper in Ghaziabad district. A student of DLF Public School, she has come up with a brilliant 97.4 per cent. Out of 96 students who appeared at the CBSE examination, as many as 25 have got an aggregate of over 90 per cent.
