Puducherry
PUDUCHERRY: Representatives of the United Region of Pondicherry Petroleum Dealers’ Association on Saturday said that oil companies supply only branded fuel to petrol bunks in Puducherry. President of the association C.R. Umapathy, in a release, said Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum sold only branded fuel, even though the petrol bunk owners had been opposing the move. Price differenceThe price difference between branded and normal fuel ranged between Rs. 3 and Rs. 4 a litre in the case of petrol and from Rs. 1.50 and Rs. 2.00 a litre in the case of diesel, he said. “Oil companies thereby force the consumers to buy expensive fuel leaving no other choice,” he said.
