Directive to liquor shops

MADURAI: The District Collector, S. S. Jawahar, has directed all liquor shops and bars to adopt the following procedures, which were formulated after a fire broke out on May 24 at a liquor shop:

all liquor shops and bars should obtain building stability certificates; all inflammable items should be removed from the establishment’s premises and should not be sold; the day’s collections should be held in iron safes, according to a press release.
