JAIPUR: Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam has asked the public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) to ensure timely supply and installation of machinery and equipment in five power projects of 1,070 MW each which are at present under construction in the State. The Chairman and Managing Director of the public sector power generation corporation, S.K. Kalla, said here on Saturday that early installation of the plants would facilitate power production on schedule this year. Mr. Kalla reviewed the progress of construction of the five plants at a meeting with the BHEL representatives at Vidyut Bhavan here. BHEL General Manager Jitendra Kumar assured the Vidyut Utpadan Nigam that the company would give priority to Rajasthan in the supply of equipment. Mr. Kalla pointed out that BHEL had been given the task of installation of boiler, turbo-generator and other gadgets in the thermal power projects of Giral Unit-2, Chhabra Units 1 and 2, Suratgarh Unit-6 and Kota Unit-7. He said the Nigam’s project officers and engineers were engaged in the work for commencement of power production. Besides the representatives of BHEL’s marking branch, officials of BHEL workshops in Trichy, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Bangalore also attended the meeting.
