Etah: At least one person was killed and many others injured on Saturday when police opened fire on a group of protesters after they started stone pelting on the government officials in Soron town, 45 kms away from here. The protesters were demonstrating against the Uttar Pradesh Government’s decision of stripping the Soron town of its newly-granted Tehsil status. The deceased killed in firing was identified as Ajit. -- PTI
